1. Who we are
piShared ("we", "us") is operated by PiShared Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15519366, registered office: 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR, United Kingdom). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. What we collect
- Account data — your email address and sign-in details.
- Financial profile data you choose to enter — income, expenses, savings, assets, debts, pension details, age, number of dependents, and similar figures used to power your risk profile, planners, and portfolio tools.
- Usage data — how you use the app (pages viewed, features used), collected via our analytics provider as described in the cookies section.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and server logs generated when you use the site.
- Newsletter email — if you sign up for our newsletter.
3. Why we use it (and our lawful bases)
- To provide the service (performance of a contract) — running your risk profile, planners, portfolio tools, and account.
- With your consent — optional analytics cookies, and sending you the newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time (unsubscribe link in every newsletter; "Cookie settings" in the footer).
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and understanding how features are used so we can improve them. Where analytics runs without your consent it uses a memory-only mode that stores nothing on your device.
4. AI features
When you use Archimedes (our AI assistant) or AI-generated insights, the relevant parts of your financial profile and your chat messages are processed by our AI service provider, based in the United States, to generate responses. This transfer is safeguarded by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum incorporated into our provider's terms, and the data is not used to train AI models. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects — risk scores and insights are informational only.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions:
- our cloud hosting provider;
- our analytics provider (EU-hosted);
- our AI service provider (US-based — see section 4);
- market-data providers (they receive only stock tickers and market queries, never your personal data);
- our email delivery provider (to send account and newsletter emails).
6. International transfers
Your data is stored and processed in the UK/EEA, except for AI processing in the United States described in section 4, which is covered by UK-approved transfer safeguards (the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).
7. How long we keep it
- Account and financial profile data — for as long as your account is active; deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
- Newsletter email — until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs — up to 90 days.
8. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted, and we follow the principle of collecting only what the tools need to work.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal data (access);
- correct it (rectification);
- delete it (erasure);
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- provide it in a portable format;
- and you can withdraw any consent at any time.
Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Cookies
Essential cookies are always on — the site cannot work without them. We use one optional analytics cookie, and only with your consent. Until you choose, analytics runs in a memory-only mode that stores nothing on your device. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

Some static files (fonts and scripts) are loaded from third-party content delivery networks, which see your IP address when your browser requests those files. They do not set cookies.
11. Children
piShared is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes to this notice
If we make material changes we will update this page and the effective date above.
